Aborym "Kali-Yuga Bizarre (Clear/Blue Splatter vinyl)" 12"
Aborymâs 1999 classic âKali-Yuga Bizarreâ is the best Black Metal album ever to come out of Italy!
Aborymâs debut album, âKali-Yuga Bizarreâ, was outdone in intensity only by the bandâs subsequent releases. On this one, they are a quintet, comprised of vocalist Yorga, bassist/effects man Malfeitor Fabban, guitarists Sethlans and Nisrok, and, of course, Attila Csihar, who is most known for his work with Mayhem, and he lends his services to three tracks here.
There are industrial refrains on this album, namely on track two, âHorrenda Peccata Christâ, but this is pure and true Black Metal. Even the evil ambience of âHellraiserâ is, despite its prophetic, futuristic overtones, a wicked slab of blasting Black Metal, and the following track, âRoma Divina Urbsâ includes some clean chorus parts that contrast the rest of the album, displaying an anthem Esque, Emperor-like grandness, making it a true gem. The electronic elements are not omnipresent, but succeed in penetrating the wall of noise at precisely the right moments, preventing redundancy.
âTantra Bizarreâ is a breakbeat instrumental, and âCome Thou Long Expected Jesusâ is an heretical melding of a somber Roman Catholic hymnal and a provocative spoken-word piece. These non-metal snippets add context and direction to the album as a whole. Next comes âMetal Stricken Terror Actionâ, a more direct Death/Thrash assault that flows seamlessly into the symphonic album outro, âThe First Four Trumpetsâ. And, just like that, itâs all over.
Tracklist:
1. Wehrmacht Kali Ma
2. Horrenda Peccata Christi
3. Hellraiser
4. Roma Divina Urbs
5. Darka Mysteria 6. Tantra Bizarre
7. Come Thou Long Expected Jesus
8. Metal Striken Terror Action
