Foreshadowed as an album of "heavily textured black metal",Ā "Mnemosyne"Ā offers nine new songs, recorded, mixed and mastered by guitarist/bassistĀ Achilleas C.Ā (Varathron,Ā Katavasia) atĀ Suncord AudiolabĀ in Ioannina, Greece. The painting that adorns the cover was created byĀ Ben Howe.Ā Ra.designĀ prepared the layout.
Apart from mastermindĀ Achilleas C, the line-up comprises drummerĀ HarisĀ (Varathron), vocalistĀ AstrousĀ (Katavasia) and saxophonistĀ Orestis Zyrinis. Clean vocals onĀ "Synastry of Heartbeats",Ā "Trauma Cultura"Ā andĀ "Mantledeath"Ā were guest performed byĀ FrĆ©dĆ©ric GervaisĀ (OrakleĀ /Ā Cor Serpentii).
The nameĀ AENAONĀ means "the Eternal" in Greek. The band's history dates back to 2006 and encompasses (on top of several smaller releases) three studio albums:Ā "Cendres et Sang"Ā (2011),Ā "Extance"Ā (2014) andĀ "Hypnosophy"Ā (2016).
